Zion’s Project Platte

The 6th grade class of Zion Lutheran School 2010-2011 is doing a project for Disney Planet Challenge (DPC) . The Platte River in Colorado is very dirty and filled with pollution. It is polluted with toxic fertilizer and when it rains or snows the water washes down bacteria, decaying animals and washed down the sewer and ends up in the Platte River.

We are trying to clean the Platte River up by cleaning up trash and testing the water to figure out how we can fix the problem. This project will be taking place from January – March 2011, and we hope that it will continue with the community helping as well. This project is taking place at Zion Lutheran School, and at the Platte River.
